It’s that time of year again. Spring is finally here, and festival season is in full effect.
If you’re lucky, you already kicked off festival season at this year’s Coachella with Queen Bey, who became the festival’s first black female headliner.
Festivals are a great place to spend time with old friends, make new friends, and maybe even meet someone special. You automatically have something in common with everyone there – a love of music.
Going up to someone new and starting a conversation is easy when you’re at a festival. Chances are you’ll have a little liquid courage to help you out, but it’s not a requirement.
People take their festival attire seriously – let them know you noticed! You could even ask them where they got it, or share stories about some of the best and worst getups you’ve seen so far.
This can open up an entire conversation about the festivals you’ve been to and the ones you’d like to go to. If you’ve been there before and s/he hasn’t, share any advice you have – or ask for advice if it;s the other way around.
If s/he did, you have something to talk about. If not, you can tell them all about it. Then you can discuss the sets you’re looking forward to and your favorites so far.
Starting the conversation is the hardest part. Remember, you’re all there for the same reason – to enjoy the music, spend time with friends, and just have a great time. There’s no reason you can’t throw some new people, and maybe even a romantic connection, into the mix.
Make it a weekend to remember.
